In 1986 in Limerick City, Mike Kemmy created his first Housename in stone and has continued to supply customers all over Ireland ever since.
Working with the finest Limestone, Granite, Marble and Slate we craft durable bespoke nameplates which are deeply engraved to last a lifetime.
The Kemmy family have been Stonemasons in Limerick for more than 150 years and have been involved in the creation of some of Limerick’s finest stone buildings including St. John’s Cathedral, St. Munchin’s Church and Mount St. Oliver’s Cemetery along with many others throughout the Mid West.
Mike draws on that family tradition and along with more than 30 years of experience has built up a great knowledge of all things stone.
Each nameplate we create is available in one of four types of stone, i.e. Limestone, Granite, Marble and Slate. Also, there are three colour choices in our Granite range, Black, Grey and Red.
Our normal thickness of plaque is 20mm and while each nameplate is customised to virtually any size or specification we do have a number of standard sizes as follows:
216mm x 180mm
380mm x 100mm
460mm x 127mm
560mm x 153mm
505mm x 225mm
330mm x 254mm
460mm x 300mm
400mm x 175mm
At KemmyStonecraft we also provide a bespoke service if you require a Commemorative stone plaque in Granite, Limestone or Marble.
Over the years we have designed, produced and fitted commemorative plaques for Schools, Office Buildings, Sports Complexes, Tree Plantings etc. Please contact us and we will be delighted to discuss your project with you. We can advise you on the type of plaque best suited to your location and provide a detailed mock up of what your plaque will look like before we start production. We can engrave any logo, crest or image that will make your design unique. See below some of the plaques we have supplied to clients in recent years.
Finally, having deeply etched your nameplated with our sandblasing process we normally fill the lettering with one of 4 colours, White, Silver Aluminium, Gold or Black.
So, select your preferred design from the options below and we will email you back a mock up of your nameplate for approval. Only then will we start work on your nameplate and when finished we will ship it out to you or you can collect at our shop in Limerick.
